Sri E B Rangarajachariar Veda Vedanta Dharma Shastra Gurukulam was established to propagate and pass on the Vedic knowledge.
Our Gurukulam strives to expand access to the learning of the Vedas (Rig Veda in the Vaishnavite tradition). Veda Pracharam is our mission, and we would like to reach the broader Rig Vedic Brahmin community of all ages, in this humble effort.
The Gurukulam was conceived and started by Nityaagnihotri, Salakshana Ghanapati Sri U Ve E B Rangaraja Iyengar (H H Srimadh AzhagiyaSingar , The 46th Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt) in 2003. He was ably assisted by his son, Sri Ramji Swami during inception. When His Holiness Srimadh Azhagiyasingar assumed the responsibility for the mutt, the Gurukulam duties were renewed and re-initiated by his son, Sri Ramji Swami on June 13th, 2021.
Our Guru is the Poorvashrama Thirukumarar (son) of HH Prakrutham Srimadh AzhagiyaSingar (46th Jeeyer of Sri Ahobila Mutt). He has the unique privilege of having our HH Srimadh AzhagiyaSingar as his Mahaguru from whom he was bestowed Manthropadesham and Vedadhyayanam in addition to being his Sampradhaya Acharya.

Observing Dharma (Rituals and Traditions for the common good) is a basic duty of all Brahmins (who have undergone their Upanayanam ceremony). Veda is the basis for all Dharma. Vedo khilo dharma moolam (which is a manu smriti vakyam) refers to this very fact. Fundamentally, by observing the dharmas, we can rise to a level of happiness and peace for our soul. Therefore, learning Vedas forms an essential component of every Brahmin who has undergone his upanayanam. Like an army is needed to safeguard a country, Vedic Brahmins are needed for safeguarding a country and community's welfare.
The main fruit or reward for following the Veda Dharma is Loka kshemam or global well-being. It is well understood that when our community is happy and healthy, the individuals are all inherently in a better place. Learning vedas in a Gurukulam setting provides a wholesome experience which includes imbibing Vedic lifestyle as well.
The second objective of our Gurukulam is to standardize and codify. In our Sampradhayam there is varied opinion around practices. Our Sri Vaishnava Rig Veda Gurukulam aims to unify and standardize the observation of our duties (Anushtanams) strictly based on Shastras and Vedas. Our vedic training will codify knowledge and deliver the correct way to perform all karmas such as Sandhyavandhanam, Agnikaryam, Bramhayajnam, Aupasanam, Garbhadanam, Chowlam, upanayanam etc..
A classical approach to delivering vedic knowledge involves learning (Adhyanam) of Vedam, Samhita, and the various forms of recitation such as Pada, Krama, Jata, Ghana. Our Gurukulam will cover Shadanga, Brahmana, Aranyaka, Lakshana, Prayoga and Dharma Shastra. There will be a comprehensive approach to learning Vedas (Sampoorna Salakshana Ghanantha Adhyayanam) that qualifies our Gurukulam disciples to serve our society in more ways than one.
